Chadwell Heath is an area in north east London, in the borough of Barking and Dagenham and the borough of Redbridge. It is between Goodmayes and Romford, and north of Dagenham. Chadwell Heath has its own railway station, and is about 30 minutes away from Liverpool Street Station. It is south of the A12, and about 30 minutes away from London City Airport. For a long time Chadwell Heath was largely a small, rural area. Chadwell Heath Railway Station was opened in 1864, and the area grew into a suburb over the late 19th and early 20th centuries. The area suffered bomb damage during World War II, and parts of the area had to be rebuilt. Chadwell Heath has a number of pubs and shops.
