Johnstone is a town in the council area and county of Renfrewshire in the west central Lowlands of Scotland. Much of Johnstone’s history before industrialisation has disappeared, with Johnstone Castle ending up being derelict after the last Laird passed away in 1931. The town’s population of 15687 is well-connected to the rest of Scotland thanks to its proximity to effective transport links. A dual carriageway connects Johnstone to the M8 motorway for transportation links to central Scotland, and the town contains 2 train stations with routine trains to Glasgow Central, Paisley and the Ayrshie Coast.
