Broughton-in-Furness is a small market town around the southern boundary of England’s Lake District National Park. It’s located within the Furness region of Cumbria, which was a part of Lancashire just before 1974. It lies near the River Duddon, just inland from the coastal hamlet of Foxfield. The town contains, amongst other shops, a Post Office, a newsagents, a grocer, a butcher, a bakery and a variety of pubs and restaurants.
